Shangri-La is also called as Lower Kachura Lake by Local

The Majority of the people inhabiting here are Muslims
following the sect of Sunni and Shia. The people are well known due to their

The prevailing season of Skardu is winter, dominating the valley
eight to nine months a year. The rainfall is not so frequent and heavy. But for
the purpose of irrigation of lands, water of Sadpara Lake is utilized.
The snow of steep peaks gets melted in summer to enhance water
availability. Varieties of crops are cultivated here. Some of fruits like Cherry,
Apple are popular here. The people adopt both the traditional and latest
cultivation methods.
The summer is concise but quite enough hot. Sometime temperature
goes up tremendously but become cool as well.
